NCI webinar on fly cancer: Beyond Mammals: Exploring Cancer Models webinars

https://events.cancer.gov/dcb/beyond-mammals

The Beyond Mammals: Exploring Cancer Models series will feature three webinars, each focused on one non-mammalian animal model and its applicability to cancer research. Each webinar will highlight three researchers and their experience using non-mammalian models to answer cancer biology questions. Following their talks, a discussion moderated by DCB program staff will center on three questions: What is unique about this organism that makes it useful as a cancer model? What are the most important differences to keep in mind between this model and human cancer? And what are the major obstacles to more cancer researchers adopting this model for use in their labs? This series will provide an unorthodox perspective on cancer modeling by spotlighting oft-overlooked models for cancer research.
