PostDoctoral position on behavioral analysis in Drosophila chemical communications

Context and objectives
Insects use chemical compounds to communicate and inform on several physiological status (stress, sexual recognition and mating, aggregation, hierarchy). The project and objectives are novel and open multiple approaches (chemistry and behavior) to cover a complete description and mechanistic of the drosophila communications. We will particularly focus on the signal perception via olfaction and/or gustation and use of drosophila modified / mutant lines to be challenged through behavioral technologies as the main tools employed for the project. The successful candidate will join the GustaBrain team in CSGA-Dijon, and contribute to an interdisciplinary project combining neurosciences, chemical communications, behavior, and sensory biology.
The project InsTA is scheduled for 12-18 months starting in autumn 2026 (to be defined). Beside the maintenance and handling of Drosophila lines, the selected candidate will contribute to the optimization of biological samples production and collection, the behavioral experiments and assay development, the data acquisition, statistical analyses and reporting. Experimental approaches will include: flyPAD, video tracking (Ethovision), PER (Proboscis Extension Reflex), Calcium imaging and Optogenetics (STROBE).
