PhD student position: Neurodegenerative disease research using Drosophila

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our effort to understand the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders. We address this question from multiple angles, including the role neuroprotective transcription factors, links between dopaminergic neurodegeneration and circadian/ sleep disturbances, and the role of neuroinflammation.

The student will conduct a challenging project that takes advantage of Drosophila as a model system. Candidate should have a Master’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, neurobiology, cell biology or related areas and hands-on experiences in molecular biology. Demonstrated academic achievement and proficiency in English are desirable. The project requires tight collaborations within and outside our group, thus the successful candidate should be an excellent team-player.
