Principal Scientist, Modelorg Antibody Discovery and Engineering

Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Principal Scientist specialized in Model Organism Antibody Discovery and Engineering. This position will lead antibody discovery and engineering efforts across various programs at Creative Biolabs, with an initial focus on model organisms. We hope the candidate can provide well-researched insights with technical knowledge and analytical skills that will influence Creative Biolabs' technology development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a leader in the antibody discovery and engineering group.
  • Develop and execute efficient strategies for target identification, prioritization, and validation.
  • Review, propose, initiate, and implement discovery and development programs of new therapeutic antibodies.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and apply best practice principles and concepts where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with internal business areas, management teams, and outside collaborators.
  • Cultivate projects to a specific level of maturity, generate organizational awareness, and transfer long-term ownership into relevant teams.
  • Develop and maintain excellent partnerships with internal and external parties to build efficiencies, meet successful project deadlines, and exert best practices for the Emerging Technology department.
  • Manage a team of scientists and research associates.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, protein/antibody engineering, immunology, or other biological science.
  • In-depth knowledge of antibody discovery, engineering, and development.
  • 2-5 years of substantive industry experience in biotechnology, therapeutic, diagnostic, and/or clinical field(s).
  • Understanding of various model organisms.
  • Experience with in vivo procedures using rodents such as study design, handling (gavage, injection, husbandry), and dissection.
  • Experience with the design of antibodies, chimeric antigen receptors, or other multi-domain fusion proteins is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills as well as strong proficiency in conflict resolution.
  • Strong internal and external communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with biological/chemical product development.
