Postdoc Position at the University of Cyprus
Two-year full-time postdoc position at the University of Cyprus
A postdoc position is available at the Drosophila Development and Homeostasis Laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia. The researcher will conduct fundamental research on a project funded by the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation. Specifically, the work will focus on the cell biology of aging in the Drosophila intestine. By combining in vivo experiments with state-of-the-art imaging and in silico methods, we aim to build a computational model to predict the aging status of the intestine upon physiological, chemical and disease-causing interventions.Â
The selected candidate is expected to perform high-quality research in vivo in Drosophila and collaborate with researchers with expertise in image analysis to build the model. The work will involve fly genetics, tissue microdissections, immunohistochemistry, cell imaging, image analysis and gene expression analysis, as well as project management, manuscript preparation and dissemination of results.Â
