I will be conducting a workshop at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, focused on Drosophila melanogaster as a model for studying neurodegenerative diseases. The workshop will introduce participants, particularly young minds, to essential skills such as fly handling and food preparation for maintaining Drosophila colonies.

This hands-on training aims to provide foundational knowledge on how Drosophila melanogaster serves as a valuable tool for neuroscience research, particularly in understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative conditions.

Students will also be introduced to basic pipetting techniques to enhance their laboratory skills and career development.
