Postdoc position in Hamburg

Postdoctoral Position (3 years, fully funded) – Nephrocyte Biology
Start date: January 2026
Location: University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE)

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher for a three-year, fully funded position starting in January 2026. Our laboratory investigates nephrocyte biology in Drosophila, with a particular focus on immunity, mechanosensation, inter-organ communication, and the structure and function of the nephrocyte diaphragm. The advertised project will concentrate on nephrocyte diaphragm biology and ultrastructure with complementary studies in mammalian models in the lab of Tobias Huber.

Our group has access to state-of-the-art technologies, including comprehensive transcriptomic and proteomic platforms, advanced light and electron microscopy, as well as clinical samples and patient data. We value an open-minded, collaborative, and inclusive lab environment and are looking for a candidate who embraces these principles.

Your Profile

  • PhD completed within the last 12 months
  • Experience working with Drosophila, preferrably
  • Motivated, curious, and open-minded, with a strong interest in cell and organ biology
