Postdoctoral Fellow in Host-Microbiome Interactions, Storelli Lab - Centre for Organismal Studies (COS), Heidelberg University, Germany
We are interested in how animals interact with their microbiome, the diverse communities of symbiotic microbes that can be either beneficial, or harmful. We use the powerful genetic tools available in Drosophila and model gut bacteria to understand how symbiosis supports essential aspects of animal physiology. We are also interested in the basic mechanisms that support gut function, and how perturbations in these processes contribute to intestinal and systemic diseases. Our lab is currently located in Cologne, but we will soon move to Heidelberg, Germany. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our new lab at COS/Heidelberg University.
